The Area is in the northwestern part of the state. The 48-mile long area of the Chattahoochee River includes 16 units in northwest Atlanta.

WHEN TO VISIT
Open year round. Climate: January, 32 to 56 degrees F; July, 85 to 92 degrees F. Average annual precipitation, 48 - 56 inches.

A series of sites along a 48-mile stretch of the Chattahoochee River, north of Atlanta, are preserved so the public can enjoy recreation and visit historic spots.
